8/28/2020 Dev Log Update

Hi folks. 20200 just gets more exciting every day doesn't it? I thought I'd just give all of you an update of what we have been working on here in our collective disaster shelters here at Fun Freighter Games.

Decal King

Sales for Decal King are still bad :(

Not much more to say, but we will be putting it on discount when we release our next project.

Buoyancy Asset

For the pas month, Chris and I have been spending a lot of time on what we refer to internally as "The Buoyancy Asset." This Unity Package will allow developers to easily simulate water for their games via Unity's shadergraph capabilities. In addition, the package will simulate flotation for Game Objects such a boats, buoys, giant rubber duckies, etc.

Now if 2020 has taught us anything, its that if anything can go wrong it will go wrong, so I won't commit to a specific date yet, but I'd be surprised if we didn't get it out within September. Taking in feedback we've received from marketing Decal King, we have decided to do a launch sale for the Buoyancy Asset. So, if you buy either of our Unity Packages (The Buoyancy Asset or Decal King) when we launch the Buoyancy Asset you should receive a steep discount. If you want to be notified when it launches sign up for our mailing list on our homepage here.

I promise we will have picked a cooler name than "The Buoyancy Asset" before launch.

Scrap Seas

Since our little adventure on the Unity Asset Store didn't go super well, we have decided to divert more of our efforts to our passion project "Scrap Seas." The end goal for Scrap Seas is an engaging rogue-like where you pilot your ship through a colorful post-apocalyptic wasteland to take down the formidable robot empire. We have been hard at work adding content to the game. Our first goal is to get a playable demo out so we can start collecting feedback from players. It's very early in the development and we are a very small operation, so any feedback we get will have a lot of weight with us. Once again, if you would like to be notified when the demo becomes available sign up for our mailing list on our homepage here.

Fun Freighter Games LLC

Fun Freighter Games has been officially established as an LLC! We are excited to reach what is hopefully the first of many milestones. We are trying many different things to try and pull in revenue and build an audience. We read every message we get through our website and any feedback we get is extremely valued.

Currently we offer freelance 3D modeling and game development services, game development lessons. If you are interested in either of those, feel free to schedule a free appointment with us.

Of course, I'm obligated to remind you we also sell products on the Unity Asset Store.

We are also experimenting with gamedev tutorials, devlogs, and even comic strips. What we move forward with will depend a lot on audience reaction, so definitely feel free to reach out. I assure you your messages wont go into an internet black hole. We are going with the tried and true "Throw spaghetti at the wall approach," and by George, we have a lot more spaghetti to throw!
